About
MuscleNIRS is written and maintained by:
Professor Chris Cooper FRSB FRSC, Emeritus Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Essex
Honorary Professor in the Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering at UCL.
I have worked in the fields of oxygen metabolism, bioenergetics and near infrared spectroscopy for many years, with a particular interest in what NIRS can — and cannot — tell us about muscle physiology.
This blog is intended as an independent educational and scientific resource for researchers, students and others interested in muscle NIRS (mNIRS).
For more extensive resources on muscle NIRS, visit mNIRS.org . Many NIRS instrument manufacturers also provide useful educational material on their websites.
